Cedar & Oak

Cedar (fawn) and Oak (tricolour) came into our care a couple of months ago after being rescued from a home with over 80 guinea pigs. They are young boars who had not had any socialising so we placed them in foster care where they could take their time to grow in confidence. They are around 7 to 8 months old and have both been castrated. They are very different piggies to the ones that first arrived, this is what their foster family have to say about them:

“Oak and Cedar are two cheeky boys that will let you know when it’s time for breakfast and tea! They have a magnificent set of lungs on them! They love being out in their pen and zooming round it in circles. They now stay out and when we are around and waddle over for taste snacks. They also love to rearrange their cage to make their own little race track – it is so entertaining to watch them. Although they are super speedy when it comes to catching them, once you have them they soon settle down.”

The pig boys have been living indoors in a 180cm x 60cm cage. It is too cold for then to go outside currently but if you have a shed, outhouse or garage that would be fine or, of course, they can be housed indoors. We recommend housing piggies indoors in a C&C set up. more info here: http://www.manchesterandsalfordrspca.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Guineapigguide2019-Housing.pdf  If you would like to offer them a home please get in touch on 0161 737 6600.
