Dixy is a very loving lady who has had quite a tough time. She was found as an injured stray and taken to a local vets where they discovered her tail was badly broken and needed amputation. A week after the op the surgical site had become horribly infected. She was transferred into our care where she was hospitalised for intensive wound management. Thankfully Dixy is now fully healed and put all that trauma behind her. Her foster carers rave about her, this is what they have to say:
“Maybe it’s because she’s tail-less but we think Dixy is a sweet cat-dog hybrid, who loves to follow you around and is a food fanatic often gobbling up her food in seconds. Dixy loves to play and has become an expert footballer by pinging jingly balls around the living room and chasing her fluffy toys down the stairs and also loves to sit in the window and watch the world go by. She is a very affectionate chirpy little girl and loves to chat away. Dixy really does love to cuddle too, she lives for head rubs and if allowed onto the bed is happiest being the little spoon. She’s a very chilled soul and happy to be left by herself during the day to snooze in warm patches. She can be shy around new people but doesn’t take long to warm up and will be nudging for head rubs soon enough!
As Dixy can get a little spooked sometimes we think she’d like quite a chilled out home. She did also put on a very impressive spitting and growling display when she saw a neighbour’s cat through our window, so she definitely needs to be the only cat in the home.”
Dixy is approximately 2 to 3 years old and looking for a home that is relatively calm, where any children are of secondary school age and there are no other cats. She will enjoy being able to go outdoors once settled. If you can offer our special girl a home please get in touch.
