Melvin

About Melvin

Breed: Domestic Shorthair crossbreed Age: 6 years (approx) Sex: Male
HOUSE CAT

Melvin is a super hero. He has had suffered untold misery in his life but he is the most affectionate cat you could ever wish to meet. Melvin was living life on the streets with no-one to take care of him day to day. He came to our attention after a member of the public found him injured, struggling to walk. It looks like Melvin had been hit by a car and his leg badly damaged. He required something called a ‘femoral head and neck excision’ so he could regain his mobility again. The surgery was a massive success and just 3 weeks after it he has been given the all clear for rehoming. Goodness knows what kind of life he has lived but now he has been rescued he’s enjoying life to the max and this is what his foster carers have to say about him:

“Melvin is the easiest cat we’ve ever lived with. He is so polite and quiet but so affectionate too. He’s like a mini dog in many ways and is our favourite cat we’ve fostered so far. Melvin loves to be close to you. He enjoys being cuddled, spooned or to lie on top of you (and on your face!). He likes to follow you around but will also sit quietly on a blanket and you barely notice him. Despite having been stray he is very polte with food and waits patiently. And just to add to his dog like characteristics he likes rolling on his back and having his tummy tickled!”

Melvin is around 6 years of age. He is FIV positive and will need to be a single house cat. He will need a home that is spacious in order to keep him mentally well and physically active. For more info about FIV please see: https://www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwelfare/pets/cats/health/fiv
We are looking to find Melvin a home where he can live out his days in peace and quiet but with lots of love and attention. If you can offer Melvin a loving, quiet (children 11+), spacious home then please get in touch by calling 0161 882 0680 option 4.
