Jude

About Jude

Breed: Moggy Age: 1 year (approx) Sex: Male

Sadly, Jude was recently returned from his adoptive home as it turned out he wasn’t always tolerant of the toddler in the home. He was great pals with the family’s 10 year old though. For this reason we are looking for an adult-only home or a family where any children are of secondary school age and can be respectful of Jude’s ‘I want to be alone’ signals. Jude is, however, renowned for being a laid back softie who enjoys the company of all our staff and volunteers. He can always be found hanging out at the front of his pen, waiting to stop you in your tracks and go and see him. In the home he enjoyed company and sitting next to his humans on the sofa. Jude also likes his grub and his adopter will need to make sure he gets plenty of exercise to prevent the pounds piling on (any more). He loves to play and has a favourite dangly toy he likes to chase. Jude is FIV+ and you can read about this here: Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) | International Cat Care (icatcare.org)

Jude will need 6 monthly check ups at a vet and annual vaccinations as his immune system is potentially affected by the virus. Jude is quite a large cat so will need a spacious home on several levels. His adopters will also need to ensure that the environment is stimulating enough to prevent him becoming bored. Further information on meeting the needs of indoor cats can be found here https://www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwelfare/pets/cats/environment/indoors. The icing on the cake for Jude would be if his adopter were able to install a catio.

Jude is neutered, vaccinated and chipped. He has returned with inflamed gums but currently he does not require any dental treatment. It is possible this will be needed in the next 12 to 24 months in which case the branch will cover the cost of this at the private vets we use in Chorlton (NB we will not be able to fund this at any other vet). If you can offer Jude the home he is looking for then please email adoptions@rspca-manchesterandsalford.org.uk
