Who could have ever predicted the situation we currently find ourselves in as a nation? In these uncertain and scary times it can be hard to keep focused and carry on but we will and we must! Although our charity shops (and main source of income) are now shut the animal adoption centre remains open for staff only as we continue to care for our animals. We have strict biosecurity at the centre generally and we will increase measures to help protect our staff.

Continuing as best we can. Oak & Cedar get lots of loves in their foster home! These boys are our longest stay piggies and sadly haven’t had any interest yet. We are still rehoming animals so check out our website!

We continue to help animals like Rover who has problems with his ingrowing eyelashes. He’s going to need operations to get this sorted so for him it’s vital we carry on helping animals for as long as we financially can. We can’t lie and say finances are going to be okay – we just don’t know and only have enough reserves to continue for 6 months. If you would like to donate to us you can here.

Please see our latest message post on Facebook today (Mon 23 March):

We have come to the reluctant decision that we have a social responsibility to close all 5 of our charity shops. In doing so I hope this will aid the effort to maintain social distancing. This decision has not been taken lightly given how reliant we are on our shop income. We are now on a count down to how long our reserves keep us operational.

We are continuing to support the RSPCA inspectorate and admit animals. To continue our work we urgently need donations of the following:

💜Whiskas or Felix adult or kitten in jelly pouches

💚Adult and kitten dry food

💜Leafy green veg for the rabbits and guinea pigs

💚Cardboard scratch pads

💜Large cat litter trays

💜 Enrichment chew toys for our rabbits

💚 Timothy hay

If people can drop off donations at the centre please email rspcamcr_salford@btconnect.com to let us know when to expect you. Please note visits are by appointment only and we will give you the address when you contact us.

Alternatively, you can purchase items on our Amazon wishlist: https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/29MQH7MB0DTUM…

Please help keep fighting for animals, we want to be there for them as long as possible.

Photos: Ripley the cat rescued by National RSPCA field staff and fire service on Thursday. He has been stuck in the lock gate for several days before being reported but is now safely in our care.

We particular need newspaper for our ‘smalls’ as we have many piglets in our care! If you have large amounts we could organise collection locally but deliveries welcome at our animal centre in Salford (see details above).

We will of course keep you up to date with news from the centre and thank you all for supporting us at a time when there’s so many demands on us all.
